Release 2.8 announced

New Features:

1. Formal Rule - The Message field has been expanded to allow selection of multiple messages for each formal rule
2. Formal Rule: The message panel has been added to show the selected messages
3. Message: messages now have a number and are identified by type/number.
4. Handbooks: Administrator and User handbooks are now available for Release version 2.8
5. Release Notes: release notes have been added to the sub menu of the Help navigation menu item, to the right of User Handbook

Enhancements:

1. Business Definitions: Rule Type has been renamed to Rule Group for better clarity. Rule Group enables users to organize and group rules.
2. Decisions: Source Rule has been renamed to Rule Statement for better clarity. The Rule Statement sub-menu item enables the user to capture rules as a Business Rule Statement (in a natural language format) and create a profile for these rules.
3. Reset button - color changed to green to improve look of RuleGuide page.

Release 2.7 announced

Release 2.7 New Features/Enhancements

New Features:

1. Messages - Message are now available to enable the user to document and manage messages. Rule Family rows or Formal Rules may have messages. Typically, Message Types are actions or instructions, critical, or information messages.
2. Export Process - ability to Export Formal Rule and Glossary records to an Excel document using filters.
3. Export/Import - Support added for client defined fields on both export and import functions.


Enhancements:

1. Java infrastucture software updates to latest versions for 3rd Party Libraries (Hibernate, Spring, ehcache)
2. Decision - Expanded Decision verb drop list (added 'Assess', 'Estimate', 'Validate')
3. Displaying columns on a RuleGuide Page - The reset button updates the user’s screen with the columns selected.

Release 2.6 announced

Release 2.6 Enhancements


Enhancements:

1. Formal Rule - In order to allow work-in-progress on formal rules that are versioned, it is now possible to save these with incomplete conclusions/conditions. This will allow the user to complete the formal rule in another session.
2. Formal Rule - Sequence numbers 5 digit zero filed (*database change). This will improve the automatic generation of pattern numbers for formal rule patterns.
3. Import - The Excel spreadsheet template supplied by New Wisdom for use in import now only supports the structured formal rule template.
4. Updated Import process - import function has been improved. RuleGuide allows users to import large quantities of rule-related information from other sources via a pre-defined Microsoft Excel template, that New Wisdom provides.

Release 2.5 announced

Release 2.5 New Features/Enhancements

New Features:

1. Context at login - Preferred Context (last used context will be preset at login). With subsequent logins, the context defaults to the last context set by the user. To change the context at any time during a login session, the user can click on “Context:” in the upper right of the screen. The Organization Context allows the user to work at the “Current Context” per the Role’s permissions for the selected organization by the user
2. Formal Rule - 5 client defined fields - Allows to user to define 1-5 additional fields on the formal rule.
3. Rule Family - The number of condition columns that can be displayed in a rule family is not limited.


Enhancements:

1. Session timeout re-set to 30 minutes - If the login session is idle for 30 minutes, the session will end and the user will have an opportunity to login again.
2. Formal Rule - 'Analysis' is the default value for Status on a formal rule.
3. Formal Rule - In order to Check-In a formal rule, a status is now required
4. Formal Rule - A status value is a required field (cannot be empty)
5. Source Rule- 'Analysis' is the default value for Status on a source rule. A status value is a required field (cannot be empty)
6. Glossary Status - 'Analysis' is the default value for Status on a glossary item. A status value is a required field (cannot be empty)
7. Formal Rule/Decision Impact/Delete process - A Formal Rule row is not deletable when it is last rule in rule family used in a decision
8. Rule Family - to improve performance in the generation of rule families, the right condition operands on each row no longer provide valid values and definition pop-up. The pop-up for valid values and definition are still available for the condition and conclusion terms.
9. Rule Family / Formal Rule - structured format is only format supported

Release 2.3 announced

Release 2.3 Enhancements


Enhancements:

1. Java infrastructure: Now using facelets and all pages are converted to XHTML. No longer using java server pages (JSP)
2. Administration: The Security Menu is now included on the RuleGuide Navigation Menu and is only visible to the Security Administrator.
3. Notes: The notes option on the action menu on each row on a RuleGuide page now shows the number of notes that are attached rather just an indication (*) that notes exist for the row.

Release 2.2 New Features/Enhancements

New Features:

  • Decision focused approach: Decisions - The Decision window in RuleGuide allows users to aggregate and manage all of the business rules (organized by Rule Family) that support a single business decision.
  • Decision focused approach: Rule Template - provides various formats for formal rule structures.
  • Decision focused approach: Rule Family- By displaying all of the Formal Rules for a particular conclusion in a table format for each Rule Family, RuleGuide makes it easier for the analyst to verify that the rule set is complete, accurate and free of logical gaps or overlaps.
  • Decision focused approach: Rule Patterns - RuleGuide automatically generates rule patterns for formal rules that contain common condition terms and the same conclusion terms.
  • Term hover for definition - provides a pop-up for valid values and definition for terms for formal rules displayed in a rule family.
  • Utilities: A Visio link has been added to the Utilities navigation menu item to allow for external link to Visio executable.
  • RuleGuide Administrator Handbook -released for Release 2.2
  • RuleGuide User Handbook - released for Release 2.2
Enhancements:
  • User Interface (UI): A new UI design has been implemented for RuleGuide pages and windows. Also, enhanced save options are now provided on each RuleGuide window.
  • Import and Export Utilities: enhanced options for importing and exporting are now provided.
  • Versioning: enhanced Work-In-Progress(draft) versioning has been implemented
  • Blaze integration: additional new RuleGuide tables are now integrated
  • Rule Template: For formal rules, a quick add of term to glossary using right mouse menu is now provided.
  • Glossary: additional fields, client customizable fields are now available.

Enhanced! RuleGuide enriches the Business and Technology environment relationship when using a Rule Engine.
RuleGuide provides rule traceability between a Fair Isaac Blaze Advisor production environment via a link between the RuleGuide application and a Blaze Advisor development environment. The Business and Technical Rule Analysts can now utilize this view of the RuleGuide natural language rules and formal rule templates in the Blaze environment while performing rules analysis
